Chemical exports from China: assess the route first

Mainland companies may enquire before choosing a gateway. Assess mainland direct export and Hong Kong-origin routes under the actual cargo and execution conditions.

BEFORE YOU ENQUIRE

Service suitability and enquiry checklist

Review these conditions before preparing an enquiry. Preliminary review, carrier acceptance and a final quotation are separate steps. GENORDA carries out Hong Kong operations within its actual services and permissions. Mainland coordination is arranged by the separate partner Shenzhen Kangjienuoda International Logistics Co., Ltd. or the executing party confirmed for the shipment. Customers need not select Hong Kong first; every route is checked by leg. Hong Kong is not assumed to be cheaper or exempt from mainland requirements.

Suitable clients

  • Chemical companies, traders, research businesses and laboratories in mainland China, including customers who have not chosen an export gateway.
  • Exporters of small samples or multi-product consignments, and customers needing help with rejection, missing documents or packaging.
  • Customers comparing mainland direct export, a Hong Kong-origin route or another executable option on the same service scope.

Documents and cargo details

  • Product names, CAS number or composition, intended use and complete MSDS for each product; any available classification, appraisal or packaging documents.
  • Quantity per inner packaging, contents per box, dimensions/gross weight and current packaging photos, stating whether goods are packed together.
  • Actual cargo location, supplier/shipper entity, destination/postcode, recipient and requested dates.
  • Previous carrier rejection feedback, quotes and their scope, import permissions and payer arrangements; missing information can be listed and supplied later.

Review steps

  1. Start with the customer’s problem and cargo information to identify classification questions, missing documents and delivery/recipient conditions.
  2. Check actual operators and gateway requirements for mainland direct export; separately check mainland export, road transfer and Hong Kong air acceptance for a Hong Kong route.
  3. Check packaging, quantities for each product/box and required documents. Hong Kong acceptance is not a mainland exemption.
  4. Compare complete charges, information/packaging work and uncertainties using equivalent service scope and start/end milestones.
  5. Confirm executing parties, leg-by-leg responsibilities and acceptance before quoting and arranging handover; do not recommend a route that cannot be implemented.

Possible reasons for refusal

  • Composition, classification or actual quantity is unclear, or the customer requests concealment, undeclared carriage or evasion of declarations.
  • Required export, packaging, transport or import documents are unavailable, or the product/recipient is subject to applicable restrictions.
  • The actual carrier does not accept the classification, quantity or packaging and no workable route exists after correction.
  • No suitable compliant operator is available for the actual origin or cross-border leg; nationwide unconditional pickup is not promised.
  • The requested date cannot accommodate document completion, carrier review or recipient requirements and no adjustment is agreed.

Cost components

  • Pickup and applicable road transport from the actual cargo location, with operator and service scope identified.
  • Packaging, splitting, necessary document coordination and applicable testing/third-party services.
  • International express, air freight or another confirmed main transport leg, including applicable carrier surcharges.
  • For a Hong Kong route, separately show actual cross-border transfer, consolidation, storage and handover charges.
  • Destination clearance, duties/taxes, delivery and special receiving services; compare quotes using the same currency, payer, validity and exclusions.
